POULTRY CARTAGE

Alderson Bulk Haulage has fulfilled the contract to a major poultry corporate to uplift live poultry from the farms at night to the processing plant. The complex delivery schedule is controlled by Aldersons. With transporter trucks, that carry forklifts, and truck & trailer units, the schedule is generally fulfilled by mid afternoon ensuring that daily requirements are meet.

Changes throughout the industry have meant we have had to re-address how we cart our live poultry. As a result all new trucks incorporated into the fleet are now fitted with hydraulic roofs, which lift and allow the modules containing the birds to be removed, filled and loaded with ease. This offers maximum protection for the birds along with a positive airflow system built into the front and back of the bodies. This ensures that the birds are keep in peak condition during transportation.

Bio-Security is a major issue and all Alderson staff are trained to adhere to the stringent regulations covering the movement of vehicles from the farms to the processing plant. Regular notifications regarding Bio Security are delivered to Alderson’s to help with the ongoing training. All vehicles are washed and sanitize between each load and at the end of each day to make sure that hygiene is of the highest standard.

This ongoing upgrading and communication has been the backbone of the successful relationship between Alderson Bulk Haulage and the processing company.
